Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA) and AWAM are pleased to announce the availability of up to four annual scholarship awards for qualified applicants pursuing a career in either aviation maintenance technology or aviation electronics technology. PIA will provide 25% of the current tuition charge to applicants qualified to enroll in either the Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) or Aviation Electronics Technology (AET) associate degree program at PIA. 

FOUR Scholarships will be awarded to recipients' with the following qualifications:

  • AWAM Scholarship Application Completed
  • Description of Award - Maintenance of Scholarship
  • Woman seeking a career in aviation maintenance
  • Qualified to enroll in either the AMT or AET associate degree programs at PIA
  • At least one letter of recommendation from a current or previous teacher or employer
  • Copy of most recent high school or postsecondary school transcript
  • Submit essay, 200 word minimum, addressing the topic: ‘Why I Want to Pursue a Career in Aviation.'

 

The Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM) has many unique scholarship opportunities, which reflect the diverse skills in the field of Aviation Maintenance & Technology.  There are opportunities for YOU in the exciting field of Aviation Maintenance! AWAM scholarship offers begin each September, so be sure to monitor the web site at www.awam.org

AWAM scholarships are for students, as well as, those in the career field of aviation maintenance wishing professional development opportunities. AWAM membership is a must, but there are no gender restrictions unless otherwise stated in the requirements.  

If you would like any assistance with the application process, AWAM scholarship mentors are available to assist you with the application process .  Applications will be available in September and must be postmarked by December 31, 2007.
