As a recipient to a scholarship, your funds may be provided directly to you or provided directly to the university/college of enrollment. Some scholarships will specifically define that portion of the funds that may be considered Financial Aid. You must refer to the specific scholarship guidelines for details.
Financial Aid is best described as any amount paid or benefit provided toward educationally related expenses. Educationally related expenses generally include: tuition and fees, room and board, books, travel expenses, dependent care, and personal expenses.
Endowment scholarships generally covers the majority of educational expenses, including tuition, living expenses, required fees, and books for the degree chosen (undergraduate or graduate). The amount and duration of awards vary by endowment and reference to the specific endowment will provide you the details. The maximum available per student per year of study is $25,000 and the maximum length for undergraduate is five years and three years for graduate.
