The 2008 Epps Aviation Scholarship recipient has been awarded to Anthony Ward, a student at the University of North Dakota. The $2,500 scholarship was open to students expressing a financial need and with an aspiration toward undertaking flight training or education in the pursuit of a career in aviation.
Originally from Southern California, Anthony Ward adds, "I traded the warm weather for the cold to a state where I had never been before and did not know anyone in order to continue my higher education and flight education. I can only applaud Epps Aviation for giving me and others like me, an opportunity to fund my aerospace education!"
As an acknowledged supporter of educational programs such as those offered by Careers in Aviation, Pat Epps, President, states, "Our dedication to the future of the aviation industry is demonstrated through our support of Careers in Aviation. Especially during these difficult economic times, students and our industry needs all of our support."
Epps Aviation has pledged continued support in 2009 of the generous donation of $5,000. The donation will assist in general support for the organization, and more importantly, toward the 2009 Epps Aviation Scholarship.
